I’m from a small southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Illinois, where I developed a strong foundation in the science of the human body and a deep appreciation for the role of preventative health. After graduation, I spent three years working as an EMT and patient care technician in a variety of clinical settings, including the ICU, geriatric behavioral health, medical-surgical, and emergency departments. These experiences shaped my understanding of patient care, strengthened my adaptability, and instilled in me the importance of compassion, communication, and teamwork in every healthcare environment.My passion for pulmonary medicine is deeply personal. After my father suffered a stroke and subsequently passed away from pneumonia, I was inspired to help others breathe easier and improve their quality of life. That experience motivates me every day to provide care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, helping patients and their families navigate complex health challenges with dignity and support.
Camille is an Arizona native. She graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor’s degree and has a background working in the field of psychiatry and addiction. She graduated from the Marshall B. Ketchum University Physician Assistant program and was board certified in 2020. Since then, she has specialized in pulmonary and sleep medicine.
Camille has been married to her husband since 2007. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, fitness, golf, and considers herself a foodie and wine lover.
I am a Phoenix native, and I love the beauty and openness of the desert. I also love the mountains and attended Northern Arizona University on a scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I knew I wanted to do something in healthcare, but was not exactly sure what that was when I got my first degree. Shortly after, I discovered that I had a passion for nursing. The technical skills, making a difference in people’s lives, as well as developing connections with coworkers and patients all appealed to me. So, I went back to school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, again from Northern Arizona University. Eventually, I decided to become a Nurse Practitioner because I wanted to play a bigger part in patient’s lives, and develop ongoing patient relationships with continuity of care. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, traveling, and spending time outdoors with my husband and two young children. I also enjoy crocheting, sewing and spending time with extended family and friends.
Growing up in AZ with childhood asthma sparked my interest in pulmonology. I know what it’s like to starve for air, or watch your loved ones struggle to breathe. This personal experience is what sparked my interest in pulmonology.
I graduated from Yale School of Medicine’s Physician Assistant program after completing my Bachelor’s of Science in medical studies at ASU. During my training at Yale, I was lucky enough to complete a pulmonary rotation at Pulmonary Associates with Larissa Anthony, PA-C. I liked it so much I joined the team!
Several years ago, I married my favorite partner in crime, and we have 4 amazing kids, including 3 teenagers! In addition to hanging with my family, I love jamming to a good beat, floating the Salt River, or jumping in the waves of the ocean.
Breathing is essential, and my goal is to help you find solutions and manage your pulmonary concerns. I hope to be a breath of fresh air in your health journey!

I grew up in small town in Kansas surrounded by lots of family. Like most teenagers, when it came time to go to college, I could not wait to get out of town. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, what to major in? My first thought was that I wanted to be a nurse because I did enjoy helping people. One biology class made me rethink that option. After looking at multiple careers, I picked what I enjoyed most at the time and continue to enjoy to this day. That was exercising. I went onto obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. After college, I returned to my home town temporarily and was left with that question, “Now what?”. A friend of a friend contacted me to fill a position as a receptionist in a 1-physician family practice. Having no other offers, I jumped in head first. This is where I found my love for healthcare, and finally, a career I could be excited about.
My husband held a career in baseball and that brought us to Arizona. I began working for Pulmonary Associates in 1998 as a medical biller. I built my knowledge of billing to become the manager of that department and shortly after, I could not wait to learn more. I wanted to understand the daily functions of the practice so I dug my heels in and educated myself. This led to me to the Office manager position in 2003 where I managed 3 offices and about 40 employees. It was in 2007 that I became the Administrator of the group, and took over managing all aspects of the practice. Although I have worked here for 16 years, I learn something new every day. I love the day to day challenges of my job, and I am proud of my accomplishments here. The staff at PA is like family to me. Over time, relationships are built with staff and physicians, but as the administrator, I feel that making sure the lines do not become blurred is crucial. If the PA employees were to describe me, I feel they would describe me as “firm but fair”. My passion as the leader is to ensure that our patients are treated as we would want our family members to be treated.
My life outside of my PA family is all about my boys, my hubby and my 3 sons. I spend all my free time hanging with them whether it be at a sporting event or just chilling at home. These boys are my life. They are why I get up every day. We keep busy with sports, trips to the lake, and lots outdoor fun. One of their favorite things to do is come to work with me. My PA family spoils them with treats, and they get to hang out with mom and see what she does all day. I take these opportunities to teach them what I teach my employees; treat others as you want to be treated.

I moved to Phoenix from San Francisco in my teens with my family. I won’t ever forget my initial introduction to Phoenix getting off the plane in the middle of July. The blast of heat was something I had never experienced. My husband is from Montana. We met at St. Joseph Hospital where he was going to school. I can’t say I’m fond of the summers here after all these years, but home is where our family lives. We raised our two children here, and now we especially love watching our granddaughter grow.
As a nurse, I’ve spent many years working in hospitals. I’ve worked in a variety of different intensive care units in the valley and also in Bullhead City. It was both challenging and rewarding caring for critically ill patients. While I enjoyed those years, now I prefer being at the other end of the spectrum & preventing some of those hospitalizations.
In my spare time, on the weekends, I enjoy working in my vegetable garden these days. It’s rewarding watching my plants flourish & grow. Likewise I hope to be a part of helping my patients grow and stay as healthy as possible.

I was born in Phoenix and even as a little girl I knew I would be a nurse. My mother was a labor and delivery nurse and she loved what she did – her stories of patients and doctors was so exciting to me! The majority of my 27 yr. career has been spent as an ICU nurse and I felt that the technical aspect of that care was what I loved best. When I became a nurse practitioner, I discovered that I loved talking to patients and listening to what they had to tell me- that was a surprising discovery about myself.
What people don’t know about me is that I have a very dry sense of humor and I laugh often, though I look very serious most of the time. I love spending time outdoors, I run a few days a week, have a cabin up north where I can hike, kayak and get away from everything. I have a wonderful husband and 3 great, almost grown children. I also have 3 lovely dogs.
Finally, I believe that nursing is a calling and not just a job. I believe people are more than a diagnosis and part of what I do is to learn about the person so we can have a successful healthcare relationship. I believe in treating my patients like I would want my parents to be treated.

I always knew that I wanted a career in medicine. Growing up, I always admired my dad. As a physician, he genuinely enjoyed going to work every day and was able to help so many patients and their families. However, I didn’t always know that I wanted to work in the same field. When I started PA school I thought for sure I wanted to work in Pediatrics. But on rotations, I found myself looking forward to pulmonary and sleep cases. When I was lucky enough to do a rotation with Pulmonary Associates, I was certain where I wanted to be.
I started my college career at the University of Arizona (Bear Down!!) where I earned a bachelor’s degree in physiology. Immediately following graduation, I moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to pursue my master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Saint Francis.
I thought I wanted to move somewhere with more weather than just hot. The Midwest was great, but I definitely had a whole new appreciation for Arizona and knew it would forever be home. I met my husband, Matt, during my time at Saint Francis. Thankfully, he loved Arizona too, and we moved back to the Valley after graduation. We love spending time with our “kids”; a giant orange cat, Rupert, and a spunky Morkie, Theodore. We are huge Arizona sports fans, especially the Cardinals and the D-Backs. I also have a passion for all things food. Whether it’s trying a new recipe with my mom, going to a new restaurant, or my addiction to the Food Network, I consider food a hobby.
I have been with the Pulmonary Associates family since 2011. I feel truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of physicians and mid-levels, who continue to educate and encourage my growth as a provider. I believe medicine should have choices, as each person’s story and beliefs are different. I hope to become a part of your story, to help guide through the difficult times and celebrate the triumphs.

A graduate of Michigan State University and Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Porvin completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. He then completed a combined Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Botsford General Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Porvin is the Chairman on Internal Medicine at Honor Health, Deer Valley Campus. He splits his time equally between the hospital and his outpatient Pulmonary practice.

Like many physicians, I grew up with a medical background, although my father tried to dissuade me from pursuing a career as a physician and as you can see, he did so unsuccessfully. My mother was an RN and my father was a Cardiologist.
After graduating from the College of Osteopathic Medicine, I completed my internship in Plantation, FL then came to Arizona to complete my Residency and Fellowship at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix (Formerly Banner Good Samaritan Hospital). While at BUMC, I was named the first DO Chief Resident in Internal Medicine.
I genuinely enjoy practicing medicine and developing a relationship with my patients. I’m an avid golfer, although I refuse to golf on any days with temperatures above 130 degrees or cooler than 2 degrees and on any days that don’t end in “Y”.

When I started my medical training many years ago, I never thought I would end up in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine. Looking back, however, this journey reflected, in part, who I am. My interest in sports medicine and athletic activities brought me closer to pulmonary and exercise physiology. I wanted to understand the capacity and limitation of the pulmonary system, as well as how various diseases such as asthma, COPD, fibrosis, and bronchiectasis affect it. My background in internal medicine and pediatrics helps me appreciate the pathophysiology and progression of diseases such as cystic fibrosis, and their impact on those who are living with these diseases from childhood to adulthood. But these interest s and curiosities became reality because I was fortunate enough to have great teachers and mentors who taught and encouraged me to pursue this field. I believe that I need to do the same for my patients in helping them understand their illnesses so that they can live with, and sometimes overcome such limitations. While I like to be my patients’ partner in health, I know there will be times that my patients will need a little more “assertive encouragement” to take more responsibility in their health. Perhaps that part came from my background as a first generation immigrant where successes are earned, not given.
I grew up in Taipei, Taiwan, and moved to the US when I was 12. The reason my parents decided to leave Taiwan was to ensure my brother and I have an education that is designed for everyone to pursue whatever interests them; an education system where the only limitation is our own work ethics (and my parents made sure to provide extra “motivation” for us when we even thought about slacking!). I must say though, that the education I had in Taiwan instilled a very strong discipline in me that served me very well here in the US. We had the best of both worlds.
I enjoy to travel. I get to see and experience different cultures from different parts of the world and United States. Whether I am sampling unique cuisines, taking in amazing views from various natural wonders, or learning and submerging in the history of ancient sites, I feel very much alive and happy. Traveling recharges me to face the stress of work. It keeps me balanced. However, my travel needs drive a certain administrator in my office crazy because she constantly has to adjust my schedules!
Two awards meant quite a bit to me. The first one was when I was in Taiwan. As a third grader, I was selected to participate in a national essay writing competition. I came in #9 in the country and #4 in the north region (I know Taiwan is a small country, but I was damn proud at that time). The other one was when I was a high school l junior. I was select among the top 1% high school music students to participate in the NYS All State music Festival. I got to perform the Dvorak’s 8th Symphony with top students from the state (my instrument was Violin). After 3 days of rehearsal, the concert was electric! Afterwards, I received an award certificate from NY State senator. I guess these 2 particular awards meant a lot to me because I was not doing these things to get in to college, to get in to medical school, or to become a doctor. I simply was doing the things I enjoy.
On a regular weekend when I am not working, you can probably find me either running, swimming, biking, or just chilling with my wife. You may also catch me enjoying a book in Barnes and Noble. On a long weekend, you can probably find us on some hiking trails outside of Phoenix. It will be impossible for me to give up exercising. I can’t stand being out of shape.
As for a Non-profit organization, I like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It is very well organized, dedicated, and relentless in the pursuit of finding new treatment and cure for the horrible disease. It has a multi-faceted plan that drives innovation. As the result, we have had some amazing breakthrough in the recent years!

I was blessed to spend my childhood in the Great Plains and the additional “luck” of allergies and asthma in this environment. I have had the pleasure of practicing pulmonary -critical care medicine here in the valley of the sun for nearly 20 years. I have always enjoyed the intellectual experience of diagnosing and limiting the illnesses that affect our lives. However as a person affected with asthma from early childhood, to assist others in conquering their breathing limitation and assist them in enjoying their own daily activities, is still the simple reward of my profession.

I believe that knowing the word “bronchiectasis” by the time I was 8 years old had something to do with my career path that led me into practicing Pulmonary Medicine. Growing up with a family member who suffered from chronic lung disease gave me the opportunity to observe the impact that a health care provider can have on not only the patient but the family.
My career path started in Chicago Public Schools; then to the Universities of Michigan, Illinois, and Arizona. Pulmonary Associates was my first pulmonary job and I am happy to say after more than 30 years of practice that it has been the right opportunity. Within the practice, I have been able to develop other passions namely research and sleep (the practice of sleep medicine is what I mean). I have been able to travel to many parts of the world and get to know colleagues whose perspective has been inspirational. I have a profound sense of gratitude to my patients, coworkers and colleagues. I thank them for the continued professional opportunities.

I love my job.
I have practiced with Pulmonary Associates for my entire career. I came to AZ (from MI, CT, MA, and OH) to complete my training, not expecting to stay, but the opportunities here were too good to pass up—both Arizona and Pulmonary Associates. Working with such a great diversity of patients and colleagues is amazing. I believe my strengths lie in listening and talking to patients and their families, in the office or hospital, in good times and bad. I believe this distinguishes true physicians. Others seem to appreciate it too: I’ve been a Phoenix Magazine “Top Doc” 14 times.
I’ve led an interesting life. My wife, daughter, 2 sons and granddaughter are a constant source of joy, inspiration and awe. The same is true of every one of my patients. My other outside passion is mountain climbing. Since joining a high-altitude research team in Bolivia in 1989, I’ve been on 14 climbs in the Andes in South America, the Himalayas in Nepal, and in the U.S. As time goes by, I’ve slowed down a bit, but I plan to keep climbing as long as I am able.
All of this keeps me excited and eager to see people every day. The privilege of being personally involved and trusted in the lives of so many people is humbling and always rewarding. Sure there are hard days, everybody has those. But I can certainly say that I have never had a dull day since I stared medical school. Few professions can offer that. I have always said that I have the best job in the world. It’s true.

I was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota where I gained my understanding for hard work, family commitment and survival… especially through those harsh winters.
I attended school in North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan and finally came to Arizona in July of 1983 for my Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship. I have never left AZ since. I’ve been fortunate enough to practice Pulmonary/CC medicine now for almost 30 years and continue to be fascinated, yet humbled, by it on a seemingly every day basis. Taking care of the sickest of patients has made me realize how very fragile we all are as human beings and the need to enjoy every day we have.
My passion for Health Care revolves around patient education as well as making patients feel they are in control of their choices for health care and lifestyle changes. I will continue to adamantly discuss smoking cessation with my patients as I still see this as the number 1 lung related disease. My goal is to assure them I am here to help, but the choice is theirs regarding all aspects of patient care.
Personally, I am rather quiet, not much for crowds or shopping. I like to read novels, go the symphony, out to dinner with friends and walk on the beach. I have been fortunate to obtain a condo in Fort Lauderdale and in San Diego and truly enjoy seeing the sunrise in Florida and the sunset in San Diego but of course not all in one day.
I am currently working with Pulmonary Associates in Phoenix, AZ and feel honored to be part of such a great group of dedicated doctors & staff. I have been named in Phoenix Magazine Top Doc edition 7 times for pulmonary medicine. I look forward to the upcoming challenges we are facing in medicine today and will continue to strive for optimal patient care and inner peace.

I was born and raised in the Phoenix area, specifically, at Good Samaritan Hospital, and attended Arizona State University. I majored in chemical engineering, but I knew early on that I wanted to be a physician. My first experience in the medical field was as a volunteer EMT for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Posse for several years during college (many years ago, before Sheriff Joe). My hobbies also began early, becoming a “car guy” in high school. I bought my first car before I had a license, by working with my father, who is still a roofing contractor here in the Phoenix area (Anthony Roofing). My first car was a very used, 1970 Chevelle SS, with a four speed and 454 big block (you car guys, or gals, know what that is!). Don’t I wish I still had it!
I married the love of my life, who I met here in Glendale, when we were growing up. Our first child was born in Milwaukee, during my first year in medical school, at the Medical College of Wisconsin. My daughter, Larissa, now works with our group as a physician assistant. Her husband, Matt, is also in the medical field, performing cardiopulmonary rehabilitation at Banner Thunderbird. At the end of medical school, my son, Christopher, was born and he is now earning his PhD at Purdue in chemical engineering.
After training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center (GSRMC) and Phoenix Veterans Hospital as an intern, resident, and pulmonary fellow, I was fortunate to join the group that trained me, Pulmonary Associates, P.A. The group continues to train medical students, residents and pulmonary fellows from all over the Valley. Our group prides itself with maintaining our skills by practicing cutting edge pulmonary medicine, sleep disorders medicine, and by conducting research. I enjoy working with everyone in the group and feel all of our employees are family, and are the backbone of the practice.
Outside of medicine, I am still a “car guy”. I am the caretaker of an old Corvette and Firebird Trans Am (you never really own them). Getting outdoors and bicycling keeps me busy, when I stay upright. I love spending time in the pines, specifically in the Pinetop area, where I spent many summers in my youth. I may retire up there some day, if I can talk my wife into it! I spend every minute I can get with my family, especially with my granddaughter, the new light of our lives!
